"Ride Him, Cowboy" is a 1932 pre-Code Western film directed by Fred Allen and starring a young John Wayne. The film is based on the 1923 novel of the same name by Kenneth Perkins and is a remake of the 1926 silent film "The Unknown Cavalier"
The story follows John Drury (played by John Wayne), who arrives in a town where the townspeople are about to kill a horse they believe to be dangerous. Drury convinces them to spare the horse if he can ride it, which he successfully does, earning the gratitude of Ruth Gaunt. He then volunteers to deal with an outlaw known as the Hawk, who has been terrorizing the area. However, the Hawk turns out to be Henry Simms, who leaves Drury to die in the desert. With the help of his horse Duke, Drury returns to clear his name and bring the real villain to justice.
The film is notable for its action-packed sequences, classic Western themes, and John Wayne's early performance, which helped establish him as a leading man in Hollywood.
